DEWEY, Ariz.

In 2001, Linda Stilson lost a husband to cancer. Subsequently, depression took over her son's heart, causing him to end his life - and his pain - with a bullet. Both deaths left Stilson at the breaking point, but through poetry, she was able to express herself, the art eventually becoming her personal form of therapy. The lessons she learned from the loss of loved ones are given life and grace in her newest poetry collection. Through "Life's Journey Through The Bumps," (published by Xlibris) she wishes to share her experience with people going through the same suffering and to encourage them to find hope.

"Life's Journey through the Bumps" is a spiritual and inspirational journey that the author has shared with hope that it helps others traveling that long journey that loss creates. "Loss is a brokenness that only those that have suffered a loss can relate to," Stilson says. "It is a long journey on a winding road with bumps and turns."

With conviction, she asserts that suicide is a spontaneous end to pain. According to her, it is "the final result of an illness; not a sin or judgment. We need to take away the stigma that it is a sin and accept it as a disease, an illness. Instead of placing stigmas on people we need to educate them on the signs and symptoms of depression and suicide and get them help... just as you would for someone with cancer or diabetes."

A poignant collection of captivating verse weaves a riveting poetry that appeals to the heart. It translates an enduring message: there is beauty in life, but sometimes one has to search to find it.
