FISHKILL, N.Y.

Sonya and Gertrude, a fox and duck, throw a party for their animal friends during which an overzealous guest doesn't realize it is time to leave in the new children's book from author Leonora, "Constance Confetti: A Party Animal" (published by Trafford Publishing).

Constance Confetti is a pig who wears a polka-dotted bow on her head, a tutu and lipstick. She brings records to the party so she and other guests can listen and dance to music. Percival Peck, a woodpecker, brings a barrel of pistachio popcorn to the party and the twin bears Sherri and Mary Lou bring each other. The rest is left up to hostesses Sonya and Gertrude.

As many guests mingle with one another, Constance Confetti dances, prances, whirls and twirls to the music until dark. When the time comes, many guests make their due exits from the party, but Constance Confetti thinks the party is just getting started - and so is a dilemma for Sonya and Gertrude. Will Constance learn the appropriate time to leave?

In this colorful, hand-illustrated book, children will come to understand the importance of manners and respect for hosts, no matter who they may be. Leonora says her book teaches children to mind their manners and that there is an appropriate time to say goodnight when visiting others.
