New Children's Book, JJ JEEB, THE TREE KEEPER, is Released

BUFFALO, Minn.

An article in The International Journal of Nutrition and Physical Activity titled "The relationship between cell phone use, physical and sedentary activity, and cardiorespiratory fitness in a sample of U.S. college students" concludes that "cell phone use, like traditional sedentary behaviors, may disrupt physical activity and reduce cardiorespiratory fitness."

Inspired by her nephew, author Euretta Sorenson wrote "JJ Jeeb, the Tree Keeper" (published by AuthorHouse) to encourage readers towards being more active and less attached to their electronics. Through rhymes accompanied by colorful hand-drawn illustrations, the book tells of a magical tree in the town of Afercoda where electronics - computers, tablets, cell phones and so on - simply do not work. Strangely enough, the people under the tree do not miss them much as they learn to have fun having picnics, reading real books, dancing and just going out to play.

This book is meant to encourage everyone to leave behind their electronics, use their imaginations and have fun with family and friends, because, as Sorenson sees it, "everyone needs to take time out of their day to play a little and spread some joy to others.
