Jolene Morgan Boyer Releases THEM'S MY PEOPLE

Author Jolene Morgan Boyer believes that as long as people live, they may experience an assortment of problems and trials and although these are of different intensity, being problems, they will continue to exist. In line with this, she wants stories of survival and overcoming problems by people around here to be immortalized and preserved for future generations and that is why she decided to publish her book. "Them's My People" showcases what Boyer considers as unique and unusual stories she has composed, witnessed, read or heard about for decades.

Boyer's book is a collection of a 30 different stories with various kinds of people who are a little more edgy in handling their issues in life such as: starvation, lack of money, lies, adultery, lust, love, salvation, murder, recklessness, and discrimination. Through her short stories, with assorted kinds of people as characters giving life to it, readers will see how each man, woman or couple faces and handles the ordeals in their own way, their own language, generated by the culture in which they are living.

Through her book, Boyer wants to share the message to anyone who has lived to experience life. She tells them that at one time or another they, their kin, their friends or acquaintances may have faced the same problems encountered by the characters of her book, and each one has the responsibility to conclude them their way - whether it is the right or the wrong choice. Another important key point Boyer wants readers to get from her book is that as long as people live, problems will always be their constant companion, whether it is today or in the future.

All in all, "Them's My People" is a reflection of the many stories that people have contributed to the public. Delivered in an honest and very realistic manner of storytelling, Boyer communicates to reader's heart making them see the seriousness and humor, even in some of the tragic stories, that at some point of man's life, he or she can still laugh at other people's antics and actions.

About the Author

Jolene Morgan Boyer left Kentucky at an early age carrying with her a great love of reading plus lots of assorted stories spun by her local family, community, and the people of the region. She was greatly interested in seeing lots of the world and has followed her dreams to see most of the states and several countries. One long stop was from 1969-1970 in Vietnam, where she worked in a Red Cross field office at Long Binh. She spent her career doing office work in several states, finally landing in Washington, D.C. area for almost nineteen years before settling back in Indiana where she now resides. She has attended Appalachian Writer's Workshops at the Hindman Settlement School, Hindman, Ky., where her soul was rekindled and courage instilled to begin composing "Them's My People."
