John Erfurth Announces 'The Adventures Of The Buckaroo Dogs'

John Erfurth, was raised on a working ranch in Navarro California, Mendicino County. His ancestors, the Gschwends, started a ranch in Anderson Valley in 1859. John started liking the cowboy way of doing things by riding horses and calves, sheep, and anything he could get his rope around. He became interested in ranching and rodeo at a young age. His granddad was a good horseman and teacher. He is the one who taught
John how to handle a horse and cattle the cowboy's way. John moved to Santa Rosa, California in 1947 and kept his interest in rodeo. In 1958 he started participating in rodeo as a High School kid. He then went on to become a rodeo producer and livestock contractor in the '60s. He always had good cow dogs working with him and wanted to write stories about them. He started training racehorses in the '70s, then went on to motion picture business providing props for them. Now John has a radio broadcasting show called the "Buckaroo Man Show." John has recently completed his new book "The Adventures of the Buckaroo Dogs": an engaging story of excitement and mischief on a farming ranch in Oregon.

"The Adventures of the Buckaroo Dogs" was created by John Erfurth about his three dogs Waddie, Woodrow, and Weslie. He watched them every day on the ranch, doing their jobs. Chasing ground squirrels, and working horses and cows. John thought it would be fun to write what they do every day in their lives. Waddie was the "boss dog" and Woodrow was "the young side kick". Weslie was a Gabby Hayes type and "the old but wise dog" who was retired and had all the answers, but was often cranky. John and his good friend Jay Pierce (who has since passed away) decided to write "The Adventures of the Buckaroo Dogs". With all the characters they meet in each adventure, the authors placed them on a cow ranch in Eastern Oregon, the last big cow ranch called the Dry Gulch Land and Cattle Company, owned by Rope and Kate Peeler.
