Reuters Billboard in Times Square will unveil the cover of Fearless Women, Visions of a New World, the latest book in renowned photographer MaryAnn Halpin's Fearless Women® book series. This extraordinary book, and accompanying multi-artist CD, contains photographic portraits, as well as inspiring stories of 50 fearless women who are taking action to make the world a better place.
Halpin traveled the US in 2011 photographing women who have sought to create a better world. "More and more women are feeling called upon to do something bigger than themselves and are responding in amazing ways," says Halpin. "When I first began this project, I wanted to create a book that captured a vision of the healing work these remarkable women are doing. This book is my way of chronicling their brave vision. I feel so proud and honored to have had the opportunity to share their stories with the world. I had no idea that my Fearless Women® books would create a movement all over the globe!"Many of the featured women are leaders in the human potential movement and inspirational teachers; Mona Polacca, one of the 13 Indigenous Grandmothers, along with celebrities/activists Linda Gray and Frances Fisher. Women change-makers such as Rebecca Grossman, founder of the Grossman Burn Foundation; Dr. Doreen Granpeesheh, foremost authority on autism; Tabitha Kyambadde, founder of African Mission Outreach Organization; and our cover girl, Lt. Col. (ret) Karen Mertes, who after being struck by a drunk driver and during her recovery from brain trauma, founded Fulfill Your Destiny, dedicated to helping those who have had a similar life altering event.Videos
