As one generation gives way to another, the elders do their best to pass on their love and lessons to the children.

Author Elizabeth Edwoods is no exception. In her new children's book, "The Man in the Moon," Edwoods shares feelings of warmth and lessons of equality to the younger generation.

Focusing on children's fables and activities, Edwoods follows the Man in the Moon as he attempts to prove his existence to children. Through the book's illustrations and text, "The Man in the Moon" entertains and relates to children while teaching them life lessons about every child's potential, regardless of the color of their skin.

"Race doesn't matter," said Edwoods. "Children need to be able to get along."

With three grandchildren and three great grand children, Edwoods's love for youth shines through the Man in the Moon's joy for life.

"I love children and enjoy writing books for kids," said Edwoods. "When we look down on children, they all have a special gift."
