Dr. Rayna Gangi speaks about Narcissism To Women's Group

"Narcissism is affecting millions of families nationwide, damaging the children and sometimes destroying the spouses. In an effort to empower the victims, I've spent 7 years with a family headed by a narcissist who eventually released his psychopathic behavior by killing a pet animal. That murder was the final straw for his wife of 27 years. The Perfect Family is a chronicle of the insanity that occurs within a family and between all of its members when a narcissist is in control."

Dr. Gangi spoke to a private group of women, mothers worried about their children and for their own safety.

"As mothers," she said, "you have a duty to protect your children and also your future grandchildren. First, you must protect and heal yourself."

"The Perfect Family, Narcissism and a Mother's Love" was released with little fanfare as the author was threatened by a man who believes he is the subject of her book.

"At first, I was going to release it under a pen name so he couldn't search for my books and find it, but that went against everything I've ever taught. I couldn't come from fear. I had to come from love, and that love is for the victims of tis insidious mental disorder, mostly women and children."
