DeLacy A. Andrews Jr. Releases New Historical Fiction on Era of Christ

Author DeLacy A. Andrews Jr. takes a unique approach to teaching the 15 psalms in the Bible collectively titled "The Songs of Ascents" through his new historical novel, "The Pilgrimage: The Shepherd of Kedar: Book 1" (published by WestBow Press).

"I want readers to get a sense of what it was like to be a Jew who loves God and yet lives in a fallen world," Andrews says. "I want them to experience the urgency of the need to worship the one, true God."

This, the first book in Andrews' Godly Shepherd Chronicles series, features the shepherd Josiah in his homeland of Kedar in upper Arabia. Josiah decides it is time for his family to make a journey to Jerusalem to worship God. Josiah was there as a boy to witness Simeon's prophesy over the baby Jesus at the temple. For 30 years, he was plagued with questions over the meaning of Simeon's words ... questions he intends to find answers to in Jerusalem.

Readers joining Josiah and his family on their pilgrimage will visit many significant biblical locations and learn from Josiah's teaching of the Scripture. Along with Josiah's family, readers will meet the rabbi Zacharias who teaches Josiah that "all the Scriptures speak of Him," referring to the Messiah.
