Minimization of legal risk is author Bryan E. Hopkins' main goal. In his new book, "Agreements, Forms and Checklists for Risk Managers: A Companion to Legal Risk Management for In-House Counsel and Managers" (published by Trafford Singapore), Hopkins provides a clear explanation of the risk management process.

"In my opinion, companies can minimize the tremendous legal exposure they face if they look at such issues as risk related issues and take steps to minimize the risk," Hopkins says.

Hopkins' book is filled with detailed information on how to identify legal risks in the corporate sector, in addition to examples of legal contracts, checklists and agreement forms needed to navigate corporate risk assessment.

"Companies must take steps to recognize legal risk in order to implement effective processes and procedures to transfer, mitigate and control risk," Hopkins says. "Not only should an organization's lawyers be involved in the management of legal risk, but management and executive management must also take responsibility for understanding and implementing risk processes at all corporate levels."
