In her new e-book, "Congress Whispers, Reservation Nations Endure: A Century of Public Acts of Aggression, Confusion, & Resolution" (published by Abbott Press), author B. Lee Wilson shares a quick-reference guide to public laws enacted by Congress between 1885 and 1990, laws which constitute the central architecture of the United States' ongoing relationships with American Indian tribes.

"It samples a genre of public laws which rest in near silence within the shadowy margins of all other U.S. public law," Wilson explains. "It is public law specific in its direct application to only those U.S. citizens who are members of American Indian tribes, yet affects all Americans. These laws continue to frame new millennium relationships between American Indian tribes and their state and federal counterparts."

"Congress Whispers, Reservation Nations Endure" hints at a prevailing decency within Congress, a characteristic evident during this century-long timeline each time lawmakers demonstrated a capacity to learn from their mistakes.

"Whenever Congress chose to take corrective action," explains Wilson, "our nation stepped closer to its ideals of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness."
