"The Carriage Ride: or Quite Possibly the Journey of Your Life" (published by Balboa Press AU) is a workbook based on an old oriental model that compares learning how to manage life to learning how to drive a horse-drawn carriage along a road. Author Jacquie Robinson created stories and exercises to help readers discover how their bodies, emotions and minds work for or against their ability to enjoy the journey of life.

"This self-help workbook is a simple means to understanding what it is to be a human being," Robinson says. "It focuses on how a person runs their life. The exercises reveal what you do and why you do it. The reader is assisted in detecting where they are in their life's journey and how their thinking helps or hinders them in what they want to do."

Robinson explains that "The Carriage Ride" model's central idea is comparing how to get your horse-drawn carriage to go where you want it to go, to learning how to run your own life.

A book for all ages, Robinson created the workbook when clients and students asked for activities to help them understand mental and physical disabilities. "It has universal appeal by the very nature of everyone's desire to better understand themselves and others."
