"These discarded pets deserve a permanent, safe home and good medical care, and Angels Among Us Pet Rescue does a wonderful job of providing all of that along with a lot of love for these poor creatures that others have abandoned," declared authorJames Andrew Bowen. "They are breaking the cycle of suffering one rescue at a time and providing a model for other communities, and we want to help them."

The main character in the family Christmas classic, Lucky the Irish Setter, proves that Christmas is still a magical time as he and his secret pal, the family's Christmas tree, share their antics and adventures in the ever-popular family Christmas classic, A Tree's Christmas.

For every book purchase made at www.atreeschristmas.com, the author will donate $3 to Angels Among Us Pet Rescue, up to $6,000.

The heartwarming story opens and closes with narration by 13-year-old Anne, who says she thinks it was all a dream (but she will let the reader decide).

As soon as the Christmas tree is brought into the house and decorated, Lucky the Irish Setter and the tree sense a kinship, and begin communicating... with no one else able to hear them.

Through 12 chapters written for the 12 days of Christmas, Lucky and the tree become close friends as they endure hardships and happy times in the house together.

Then, when it comes time for the decorations to be taken off and the tree put outside in the cold and snow, and all of the other trees outside begin to bully the little Christmas tree, a loyal Lucky comes to the rescue.

Written by longtime southern journalist Andrew Bowen, the 66-page, embossed hard-cover, with original artwork on the dust cover, can be ordered online at www.atreeschristmas.com to benefit AAUPR.

REVIEWERS LOVE A TREE'S CHRISTMAS

"This could be a new Christmas classic!" Chicago Daily Herald

" A Tree's Christmas: A Talking Tree's Story of its Christmas Adventures, is an inspirational children's chapter book with heartwarming appeal for all ages. The Christmas tree itself is the gentle story's star, and even though other bigger trees in the forest have ridiculed or belittled the tree, it is true to its own story and attests to the virtue of perseverance and fidelity in the face of hardship. A Tree's Christmas deals with many relevant themes; the circle of life and death, family love and support, and enduring hard times to remember joy in the end. A Tree's Christmas will be a treasured gift to share with a loved one, child or adult. Its lessons of a brief life fully lived in gratitude for the wonder of creation are to be respectfully passed on to new generations."Midwest Book Review.

Dr. Judith Briles, author of more than 20 books and board member of the Colorado Independent Publishers Association: "Adults will understand and love the circle of life theme. And, of course, the author reminds us there's a lot more to a tree than its branches and leaves! The surprise ending will touch everyone's hearts."
