"Wicked, Pippin, Godspell, Fosse, Children of Eden... it goes without saying that Stephen Schwartz is a prolific influence of the American Stage. His music has, and will continue to influence, generations of artists. For me, Wicked was the first show I saw on Broadway over a decade ago, and I vividly remember doing Children of Eden in high school when my grandmother was on her deathbed making the lyrics that much more prolific. Photographing this unassuming man, who's work had so inspired my younger self, is something that I still haven't fully grasped. I thank him for participating in this project and through his music, giving 15 year old me a connection to the magic of theatre." - Jason Zeren, photographer and curator of The Creative Faces Project
