Brooklyn's M Center for Art & Wellness Celebrates One-Year Anniversary, Beginning 11/22

The celebration begins on November 22 with VOICES 2014 a gala concert celebrating the work of the vocal, musical, and acting students of the M. The concert features the work over a dozen local artists. The week concludes with open classes, special raffles and prizes, a special M Spirits Psychic Night on Friday, November 28, where experienced readers will be on hand to read your tarot cards and Mary Elizabeth Micari, the M's founder, an ordained minister, herbalist, astrologer, and REIKI master will be on hand to answer questions about holistic healing.

The intimate studio on 83rd and Fifth has made quite an impact on Bay Ridge thus far: four playwrights from the M Playwrights Workshop had their work performed off-Broadway and each production featured actors from the M acting class; three M vocal students have been accepted to the arts programs at prestigious high schools and colleges; the M Band recorded its first demo featuring members of the music and vocal programs; and one received a role in a feature film. Plans are also in effect for the creation of an independent film studio out of the M to commit the students' work to film.

The Wellness Division fostered programs in Tarot, Herbalism, Astrology, and Wicca; The M had a special display at Pagan Pride 2014; the monthly REIKI and meditation circles have become a welcome Bay Ridge tradition; and Kheng Chow-Lee premiered her work with Integrated Energy Therapy at the M.
