Christian Youth Theater-North Idaho (CYT-North Idaho) is in final preparations for it's fall production, A Christmas Carol, the Broadway Musical, opening at the S.A. Kroc Community Theater (1765 W. Golf Course Road in Coeur d'Alene) on November 6.

Ebeneezer Scrooge and his ghostly encounters come to life in this lavish and thrilling adaptation. Broadway heavy hitters, Alan Menken (Disney's Beauty and the Beast and The Little Mermaid and Lynn Ahrens (Seussical, Once on This Island, and Ragtime) breathe fantastic new life into this classic Dickens tale. Proving its staying power with a decade long run at Madison Square Garden, A Christmas Carol is an ideal choice to kick off the Christmas Season.

CYT-North Idaho's production has a cast of 72 students and a crew of over 20 students all currently taking CYT's theater arts classes. Crew members will work the technical aspects of the production all overseen by a part-time staff and a creative team of four. Over 60 cast families have done everything from building costumes and sets to designing make-up for the cast who play all ages including ghosts! There are 8 public performances and 4 Field Trip performances where local school children come with their class to see this fully scaled production featuring many of their peers.

The afternoon performance on Nov 11, Veteran's Day, CYT is offering free admission for Vets and up to 4 family members. CYT and the S.A. Kroc Center - CdA, who is sponsoring the performance, wish to honor our Veterans for their sacrifice and service. The performance is at Noon and seats must be reserved by calling the CYT-NI office at (208) 762-9373. Limited seats are available. Appropriate ID will be checked at the door.

Public performance dates and times are:
Nov 6, 7, 13, and 14 at 7 p.m.Nov 7*, 8, 14 and 15 at 3 p.m.
Tickets range in price from $9-$15. The (*) indicates a Family Discount Performance where all tickets are $9. Group rates are also available, as well as a discount for our patrons who serve, or have served in the military, and seniors.
