LEMPICKA to release original Broadway cast recording in May

The Original Broadway Cast Recording of Lempicka will be released next month! The new musical led by Eden Espinosa celebrates the gripping true story of renowned artist Tamara de Lempicka.  With music and lyrics by Matt Gould and Carson Kreitzer, the digital album arrives May 29, 2024 with the physical CD release set for July 5, and available for preorder now.

I, for one, cannot wait to give this music another listen. 

There’s a beautiful underscoring moment that has stuck with me and likely won’t be on this album. When Tamara and Rafaela first embrace and head back to the studio for the night (towards the end of Act I), the opening piano lick of “I Will Paint Her” can be heard amidst a tremolo from the strings, leading into a lush instrumental chorus of “Woman Is” from the full orchestra. It then quiets down, and only a soft piano comes in when Tadeusz stops by.
