This is likely transferring to the Booth for a summer run

after seeing it tonight I totally get why, an over the top, dumb and fantastically charming production that is bound to finally put Cole on the map.

I don’t know that this needs to be on Broadway- it feels decidedly like a downtown show- but at the same time, it’s the only production in my recent memory that has had uniformly glowingly positive word of mouth, even from the most critical people I know.

I assume Broadway is the goal because this show and all the buzz for it lies on Cole's shoulders. Cole is in demand and won't want to do this forever. So where Little Shop and Titanique can stay put in their small theaters and recast regularly and possibly tour, this play needs Cole, and increasing the number of seats by 150% would allow more people to see it without Cole having to run a year in the play.

Saw this on Friday evening.   It was completely and utterly unhinged.   Cole Escola is deranged in the best way possible and I haven't laughed so hard in a long time.   Loved it.

Just got tickets to the 5pm show on 5/11. Is it possible to see a matinee before? Thinking either Illinoise (cause it's shorter) or The Outsiders.

Illinoise or any one-act play would work fine, as well as either Lempicka, Patriots, or Stereophonic, which all start at 1 pm. With some of the shorter two-act musicals that start at 2 pm, you'd have to rush a bit, but you'd probably make it.

I saw the Teeth matinee before heading to Oh, Mary. Teeth started around 2:35 and I was on the street around 4:30. I made it with plenty of time to spare.

Exactly this. It felt like witnessing a new voice explode onto the scene. Nothing like it, and easily the best play in town.

FINALLY got to see this today and damn, that was worth the wait. One of the funniest things I've seen in years. It's so rare to see something that's just "me", just totally my sense of humor so I was kind of in heaven. I did ask afterwards and the talks are continuing to transfer this so fingers crossed because I'd love to see this a few more times at least.

I saw on their instastories that someone has rushed the show 7-8 times!  They have quick fingers!

… That or TodayTix needs to run software to prevent multiple rush wins. Why take so many chances away from others to see the show? Lottery I understand, but rush?

Back when I’d do different stuff online, I’d learn that there’s software people can run so their computer/phone starts “clicking repeatedly” to ensure they’re the first person when the clock changes to 10:00AM. Same idea when computer graphics cards would drop with ticket rushes. 

adding a limit makes sense. Because who needs those specific rush tickets 8 times for a limited run? Be serious.

If they were buying up the tickets and scalping them (like some people do with the lotto seats/SRO for AN ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE), then I could understand a restriction for a single person.

However, capping rush tickets is a slippery slope since then, say (hypothetically) a show wasn’t doing so hot, and the production released additional rush tickets to entice more people to see it at a lower price point - you have now shut out some of the consistent patrons with an arbitrary limit and shot yourself in the foot. I wouldn’t have been able to see A STRANGE LOOP as many times as I did if they restricted rush access.

Ultimately, it’s a free market - if someone enjoys the show, they should go see it as many times as they wish. Regardless of who buys the ticket, TT will get their money and the production will get theirs. It just sounds more like sour grapes that some people aren’t as lucky at getting the rush tickets than others and so they want to change the rules.

Regarding in-person rush for OH, MARY, does anyone know whether you can purchase up to two rush seats? Or are you limited to one?  Assuming availability, of course. Really need to know.  Thanks!
