Was anyone there at the 9pm show? A friend was in the audience and said there was no curtain call, and that a stage manager and a couple of cast members carried Tom Sturridge offstage. Admittedly I haven't seen the show myself yet, so I'm not sure if that's normal, but she was wondering.

ETA: Apparently there was an announcement made for a doctor, and the audience was abruptly dismissed.

The play ends with Tom in the chair and saying

To the audience (or more so, to the big brother). And then there's a curtain call. How did the play end today? I really hope that Tom is not hurt! Tonight's performance of 1984?

OP said he was carried off stage by the stage manager and cast tonight.

All I've seen on Twitter is a couple people asking if that's how it's supposed to end and 1 person asking if he's OK.

I hope he is or is able to make a quick recovery if not.

Yikes, that sounds frightening. (For him)

Shouldn't there be a statement from the production if something happened? Groundhog Day released one when Andy Karl got injured, didn't they?

Seems odd... I wonder if he'll be on the show today.

Well, there's a thing call privacy, so it isn't up to the production at all.  (But I am curious about his attendance as well.)

He had a medical emergency towards the end of the show, and had to leave.  My friend was there, they were not given much information, other than the lights turning on and the ushers asking people to leave.

Any word on if he's in today's 5:00pm show? I really do hope he's alright -- didn't Olivia Wilde break her tailbone a while back? It wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility that something similar happened last night.

According to a post on twitter -- he's fine and was back in the show yesterday. He did supposedly go to the hospital, though.
