In Depth Walking Tours Introduces:

“Hello, Dolly!” Walking Tour

Bette Midler’s revival of the Broadway hit of 1964 and the Barbra Streisand movie of 1969 is rivaling “Hamilton” as the hot ticket on Broadway.

See Union Square as Dolly would have seen it in 1890!  See how 20th Century-Fox re-created Union Square – the biggest set ever built in Hollywood.  See how Luchow’s and Delmonico’s became the fictional Harmonia Gardens.  Discover Tammany Hall and Tony Pastor’s Theater, where Vaudeville and Ragtime were invented, in New York’s entertainment district of the Gay Nineties.

Every Monday, Tuesday and Friday (except Friday, July 21) while the show runs.  11:00 a.m.  E. 14th Street & Union Square West, northwest corner.  $20.00/$15.00 for 65+.  Fred Cookinham, 917-607-9019.

That sounds very interesting.  Would love to do it.  I was just on the site, but can't locate anything on there about a HD tour.  Perhaps the site hasn't been updated yet.

I'll keep checking.

It's on the site now nealb1, but the bad news for me at least, is that the tours don't start until June 5th which is when I arrive home.  I see Hello Dolly on Friday, June 2nd and this would have been a perfect thing to do during the day before seeing it.  sad

Thanks, Wicked Fanatic.  I see it's on there now.  Sounds like a fun tour.  I saw HD a few weeks ago and LOVED EVERY SINGLE MOMENT OF IT!  It was fantastic!!!!!

David HP was out and his understudy went on for him.  Bette gave him the final bow.

I just spoke to the tour guide, Fred and he will be starting the tour on June 27th at 11am! He is asking for people of all ages to come and join the tour to speak about seeing the original or subsequent revivals with Carol Channing. Please join us! I'll be there with ribbons down my back!

This is a colorized photo from 1900 of a Madison Square Garden cab stand. I have it as one of my wallpapers, and every time it comes on the screen I think "Irene Molloy and Minnie Fay"!HELLO DOLLY walking tours
