Vinyls

Hi!

New to posting on the board, but have been lurking for a while now!

I have no idea if this is the right place to be asking this, but after looking myself I've run out of ideas! Basically, I was recently gifted a turntable and the first thing I tried to look for were vinyls of musicals. While I have found a few, the selection isn't nearly as big as what I saw when I was in Barnes & Noble in the US for a trip a few weeks ago (before I got the turntable).

So my question is, is there anywhere in the U.K. that stocks such vinyls, for old shows and new? Or even websites that would ship to the uk? I know B&N do not. Amazon have a few but not a huge range and prices can get crazy (which is expected from import etc I guess). I know most are probably Broadway cast recordings so whether many places would import for such a niche genre is not likely I would think.

Hope someone can shed some light. It would be very much appreciated. Thanks!!!

I do think Amazon is your best bet. However, you'll have to look at second hand listings to find things at reasonable prices. Even then, if it's rare, it can be expensive. Of course eBay can be expensive too but also provide the rarest treats.

I think your best bet would be to be specific about which shows you'd like. It's quite easy to get vinyl converted to MP3, but I've not heard of it the other way round.

Once you start to spread it, Baby, if you let it, Love comes right on back to you . . .

I saw the West Side Story vinyl on the H&V website as well as several Disney soundtracks. The only other thing I can think of may be a lottery, but you can try to raid charity shops for some of the older shows (my grandma found an Oklahoma! soundtrack about 2 years ago in an Bernardos). Thats all I can think of minus Amazon & Ebay.
