I know, it just left. But I just saw the touring production in Charlotte, and it couldn't be more relevant.

Like you say, the tour is still out and about.

It should stay out on tour. And it should stay out there for at least 4 years...

Just saw it a week ago in Atlanta-- it's in dazzling shape. If you sit up in the first or second row, even the gargantuan Fox Theater can feel intimate. Randy Harrison is a spectacular emcee and most of the cast sings the score even better than the original Bway revival back in '98. Another standout was Mary Gordon Murray's Frau Schneider-- I've never heard the notes in What Would You Do? sung so clearly. Only quibble in a stellar cast: Andrea Goss's Sally Bowles was an especially brittle, charmless interpretation, though she really made something striking and exhilarating out of the title song; that moment when she is visibly freaked out by the orchestra rejoining the song after the bridge was shocking and goosebumply-- loved it.

I did hear a rumor that this is coming back to the city for a return limited enagagement at Studio 54 in the spring once Holiday Inn closes, but I don't put much faith in that

Randy and the rest of the cast are spectacular but I don't think the revival faired as well as they're hoped in New York so I can't see them bringing it back. I do wish they would have filmed Cabaret for BroadwayHD maybe even more so than She Loves Me even though I adore it. If they had to pick one production to represent Roundabout it should have been Cabaret.

I hope so as a new production is opening in Sydney on Jan. 9th with Paul Capsis and Chelsea Gibb. If interested check out Hayes theatre as they seem to do a wide range of productions and encourage new talent in all theatre-related areas.

Andrea Goss version of Cabaret was tour de force, brilliantly sung and stunning staged. It was goosebump inducing

Well I didn't want to get into it, but he's a Satanist. Every full moon he sacrifices 4 puppies to the Dark Lord and smears their blood on his paino. This should help you understand the score for Wicked a little bit more. Tazber's: Reply to Is Stephen Schwartz a Practicing Christian

I would LOVE for the show to come back to Studio 54.

Madbrian, were you at the matinee performance yesterday (Sun 11/13)? If so, I was there as well.

I was totally blown away by the production. I did not get to see either of the two Broadway incarnations of this production, so I can't say how the tour compares, but every single element of the show was incredible IMO. Randy Harrison's interpretation of The Emcee was beyond brilliant. He was creepy, charming, dark, funny, and sinister all at once. And what a voice! His "I Don't Care Much" was a highlight.

Andrea Goss played a delicate but powerful Sally. I felt that her performance of the title song was on the weaker side, but loved everything else that she did.

The direction was stunning, and the final scene was exhilarating. One moment that is really sticking with me is when The Emcee drops the brick in Frau Schneider's place.

If you have the opportunity, I would absolutely recommend seeing this tour.

I've always wanted to see John Cameron Mitchell play the Emcee.

Two years ago, when Roundabout signed Emma Stone to play out the last few weeks as Sally, business went through the roof. Premium seats jumped up in price and previously non-premium seats became premium seats. If Roundabout had theater and actress available, Cabaret would still be playing.

But we New Yorkers have no interest in celebrity worship.
