That's funny about YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN. It's been popping up on my Spotify, and I think away from the pressure and buzz at the time. I don't think Roger Bart was the right way to go. Megan Mullally and Sutton Foster are great on the cast album though. It strikes me as exactly the kind of show that would benefit from an overhaul. I'd love to see it come back to NY at some point.

"Some people can thrive and bloom living life in a living room, that's perfect for some people of one hundred and five. But I at least gotta try, when I think of all the sights that I gotta see, all the places I gotta play, all the things that I gotta be at"

What was so lousy about the opening number? I think it's funny. I think I actually prefer the score to Young Frankenstein over The Producers but it could just be because I wore out my Producers cast album and my ears listening to it so many times when it first came out.

I'm looking forward to seeing what changes actually get made. My biggest critique with the original production was the length and how it started to feel repetitive. I remember a lot of numbers that could have easily been trimmed down, or even eliminated completely and just let the sequence from the movie stand on its own.

Or better yet, some movies, especially if they are perfect like this one is, don't need to be made into musicals.

The original production seemed to have been a victim of premature overhyping. A more humble road to Broadway as a revival should really help it, not charging insanely high ticket prices for example.
