Derek Klena in Anastasia and Gavin Creel in Dolly! came to mind most immediately for me.

Hmm, I found Creel too mannered in the role. I never really felt that he was trapped in Yonkers.

For play or musical?

For musicals that are currently running / are transferring and are thus known, I would say the following would be in the mix:

Brandon Uranowitz, Falsettos

Lucas Steele, Great Comet

Corbin Bleu, Holiday Inn

Nick Cordero, Bronx Tale

For play- we don't yet know the response, even though there are certainly baity roles. I would be surprised if Oslo is not represented by Anthony Azizi or Michael Aronov.

I agree with MinnieFay.

And haterobics - "Hmm, I found Creel too mannered in the role. I never really felt that he was trapped in Yonkers."

When did you see Creel "in the role", dude?

My point seems equally valid as saying his performance is Tony worthy.

I would say Corbin Bleu for Holiday Inn. (Musical)

I would say Harold Perrineau for Cherry Orchard (play).

Even though the play got panned, he will/should get recognized as well as Celia Kenan Bolger for featured actress.

I thought Corbin Bleu was good in Holiday Inn, but Tony Nomination worthy, not so sure.
