I'm pretty sure it was leaked, but for those who have heard it, or the three released singles, what are your thoughts?
Do you think it is a strong comeback [even though I feel like Gaga has been present throughout the years quite a bit ie with AHS, the Oscars, and her Grammy performance]
Not a fan of hers (so will just get that out of the way upfront) and must say I think this is a pretty dull album. Yet again she has changed identity (country, rock) and it just doesn't feel like an organic fit. Her voice is grating on so many songs, she has never been able to just sing a ballad but on this it's worse. Not one moment of true honesty in her voice, just a whole lot of over singing.
Dancing in Circles is a fun song but that's about it, the others ain't bad (well a few are) they just ain't very good. No real 'hits' on here, Perfect Illusion is a terrible song but in context of the album it made sense to be the lead single. Million Reasons is repetitive and again over sung. The title track and Angel Down are missed opputunties and the less said about Come to Mamma and Diamond Heart the better. The duet with Florence is ok but again it could have been something so much more.
Its already getting pretty meh reviews and I can see why, it's almost like she's past caring.
Namo i love u but we get it already....you don't like Madonna
I'm not really sure a review from a Gaga fan online really counts as a review, I'm talking actual reviews, Slant magazine, New York Times, Independent are all 3 star reviews at best.

That's completely true :) but I guess a review from a Gaga fan actually maybe quite good, especially since the album is party targeted towards her past fans [see Perfect Illusion] with whom a large portion left her following the release of ArtPop and during her Cheek to Cheek days. So a good review from one of them, especially since many of them have been quite critical of her lately, provides an interesting idea of whether 'Joanne' recaptures her old fan base, which wouldn't be clear with actual/highranking reviews.
I like the album quite a bit. "Diamond Heart" is quite catchy. "Hey Girl" with Florence Welch sounds so much like "Benny and the Jets", I'm assuming it's one of the tracks Elton John worked on.
well obviously Madonna isn't as good in Petralicious' eyes. Like, for instance, I would much rather listen to Sia than Madonna, but obviously Madonna is far more acclaimed. It's all a matter of opinion.

no offense but how is madonna at the bottom of your list...like huh??
" Yes, thank you Phantom..... I will not lie, I like some of her songs. but overall i find her too calculated, too desperate for attention for my taste. Others disagree and that is OK. I much prefer the other Ladies on my list.
Listened to the album a couple more times and it's really growing on me. The standout is "Come to Mama", a lovely throwback to 50's/60's girl group songs. I totally get why she puts people off, but I still find her pop music better than most of the garbage being regurgitated these days. And I always find her non-single tracks more interesting that what is being promoted.
I've been bopping to "John Wayne" and "Dancin' In Circles" all day! I'm really digging the album and its timeless quality. It may not be as inventive as some of her past music, but it's incredibly well-written and well-crafted. I don't know if it will be the hit she's hoping for, but it's great. That being said, I really liked "ARTPOP" as a dance album.
"I saw Pavarotti play Rodolfo on stage and with his girth I thought he was about to eat the whole table at the Cafe Momus." - Dollypop
John Wayne is really growing on me. Like most of her work, repeat listening really help it fully blossom. I loved ARTPOP, too, Robin. The title song is one of my favorite things she's done.
Wouldn't consider myself the biggest Gaga fan, but I really liked "Perfdect Illusion" for its simple melody, but her vocals - on the chorus - just sound so strained and weird. I'd love to hear someone else cover it. And as for the album... it's not for me. Not a good song in the bunch. They sound like demos that just never got full production. Her vocals sound like someone making fun of her rather than being genuine vocals. If she's trying to drop her shtick, it's not working. Momma needs the shtick.
On a related note, Sia released her deluxe version of "This is Acting" today and I cannot stop listening to the songs and the new mixes! So stoked to see her on Tuesday!!
