Hi! I'll be in London from June 23-29 and again from July 4-10.

So far I've booked to see In The Heights, Into The Woods, Unreachable, Cuttin' It and The Suicide. I'm going to try to get Friday Rush seats for The Threepenny Opera. I have plans to get Day Seats for Show Boat. I would love to see the Judy Garland play at the Southwark Playhouse. Also going to try see Matilda and Curious Incident and the plays at Shakespeare's Globe. Other than those, I have many empty nights and afternoons and would love to see lots more theatre. Any recommendations/advice on shows to see, day seats etc? If this is any help, I love to watch plays and musicals! Some of my favorite scores (haven't watched a lot as my local theatre scene is mainly local plays and hardly any musicals!) Fun Home, all Sondheim and The King and I.

Shows that I'm interested in but haven't decided on include Charlie & The Chocolate Factory, The Truth, The Play That Goes Wrong, The Mousetrap, Kinky Boots, Guys & Dolls, etc. Advice on whether to see these shows or not?

Thank you in advance!

I recently saw Kinky Boots and Funny Girl and would highly recommend both. The Play That Goes Wrong is very funny. Lots to choose from and hope you have a great time.

I'm going over the same week from NYC.  Funny Girl is great.  Sheridan Smith is wonderful and returning in July, though I don't think a date has been announced.  The Play that Goes Wrong and Charlie are both a lot of fun.  My friend recommended Titanic very highly so I am hoping to see that.  The Spoils I saw when it was in NY and is really fantastic.

Check out the app Todaytix if you haven't already for theatre tickets around the world. My referral code is DGHVR

We also will be in London (area) from July 1 to July 12.  We are planning on seeing Titanic but are pretty open to everything else.  And, maybe try for a day seat (or the Friday Forty) to that new show at the Palace that some people are talking about.

Not reading good things about Threepenny Opera....

And to OP - you do know to check theatremonkey.com for day seat info.....

I've never seen Titanic - thank you for your recommendation! It's on my list to try and score some tickets to.

Thank you for your recommendations. I think I'll try to see Kinky Boots, but if I can't then I won't fret too much as I'll have more time later in the year when I'm in NYC to try and see it. People say the accents are better in the UK, but I have to accept what I can! Definitely going to try and get Day Seats for Funny Girl. Read lots of great things about The Play That Goes Wrong so I'll have to look into that!

Oh how wonderful, I hope you have a lovely time too! I'm just waiting for a date for Sheridan to return - but I'm doubtful that she'll be back in the show before I leave. Regardless, I hear her understudy is just as great! Yup, Charlie looks great! Can't wait to see The Spoils, really hope that I get the todaytix rush!

Yup definitely going to try to snag the Friday Fourty for Harry Potter & The Cursed Child! Ah - well I've yet to make my mind up about Threepenny Opera, but I think I'm still going to try to get the Friday Rush seats. Yes theatremonkey has been such a gift - I was just wondering if any BWW members had extra advice or something like that. I hope you have a lovely trip!

The extra advice is to skip Charlie.  We saw it when the elevator still worked and it was not good then.  Now, with the elevator not even flying around, there's nothing to look forward to, except ice cream at the interval.

Do look outside the West End theatres - and check out http://theatreboard.co.uk/ to see what is playing at some of the other theatres in London.

What's wrong with Ice Cream?

Seriously, when a party called the Big Baloney gets on ask him. He lives 3 floors underneath me and, I kid you not, has been to London about 40 times . He returned from there a few months ago.

48 Times, Mr.Roxy.....I went  online many times to acquire six shows at The National Theatre at 15 pounds a play and usually sat in the first two rows. You have to keep checking because these tickets  show up at different times on different days repeatedly. It like playing a theatre game. Go on the theatremonkey site read about the day seats and those people who recently got them post their news and lines they were on.

Liked The Comedy About The Bank Robbery more than The Play That Goes....  The Mousetrap has a Tuesday show at 3:00 that I attended and bought a cheap ticket that paid off, due to many empties. If you know what I mean.

Our trip to London may just have gotten about 5% less expensive....if the pound does not recover from its Brexited dive against the dollar.
