I'm heading to London with a friend in a few weeks, and we want to see two shows. We've purchased tickets to Dr. Faustus and are now trying to pick our second show. It doesn't look like great seats are available for the dates we are looking at for PP&T, and I read that they are eyeing a NY transfer...if that's likely to happen, we could wait for that and get good seats early. Has there been any more word about a transfer?
I also have a question about day seats. Has anyone obtained them for PP&T? Where were the location?
And lastly, feel free to provide recommendations of any shows we may be overlooking!
These are the reader reports on theatremonkey.com about day seats for People Places and Things:
Thursday 17th March 2016. 8.30am. Just me here! Thursday 24th March 2016. Just got Day seats for today's matinee. Only 4 other people in line at 10am when Box Office opened! Easy! Saturday 2nd April 2016. 9:58am. 19th in line, got two. Thursday 7th April 2016. Second in line at 8am. 23 at 9.50am. Thursday 7th April 2016. On this particular day they were only taking cash as the computer wasn't working. 15 in front of us just after 9am, queue was probably around 30 people by 10am. Monday 18th April 2016. got here 9.10am and only 7 people in queue! Monday 25th April 2016. 9.06am, I'm 11th. Got 2 tickets. 10 people joined queue at 10am as doors opened, they got tickets as well, around 20 people in all.
As for a second show - The Play That Goes Wrong. Although that is coming to Broadway. Sunny Afternoon - if you like the Kinks. My wife loved the London production of Kinky Boots. A new musical, The Go Between, begins previews I think on or about May 27 and opens June 7. There is a new production of The Threepenny Opera at The National that "Contains filthy language and immoral behaviour" and stars Rory Kinnear and Rosalie Craig. It opens...tomorrow. So look for reviews.
I'm also looking to buy tickets for PP&T, but not day seats. My friend is on crutches, so I'm concerned about the stairs/accessibility. Does anyone know if the Royal Circle is 12 steps up or 23? I've seen it listed both ways.
Thanks so much! I'm still torn on what to do because theatremonkey says there are only 11 tickets available per show - seems like it could be risky. But appreciate your help and information!
