Does anyone know when main people from the show take a day off or go on vacation? I would like to purchase tickets to the show but would like to see the original cast.

1. Are you prepared to spend an insane amount of money and purchase either premium or re-sale?
2. If not, you aren't going to see most of them as some have already left and others are leaving in July.
There are no "days off" from performing except for LMM -- and his schedule is published through June (or July).
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?

Does that mean if someone pays $650 for a ticket they will get to see main cast? Is that why prices are so high because they have their contracts are up in July, and people may think that the main cast may leave at this time?

These,are re-sale tickets...basically you are paying scalpers. They are priced like this vecausecthia is the hottest ticket in town. Who knows if it's connected to the original cast

Yes to your first question. No to your second. Prices are so high (for all dates including those after July) because people want to see the show that badly that they are willing to pay those prices, regardless of who the cast is.

You could just participate in the lottery everyday until you win. Otherwise, you probably won't see it with the original cast.

If you find $650 tickets, you should probably scoop them up. That's a GOOD price nowadays.

How badly do you want to watch the show with majority of the original casts?
If you have the perseverance, stamina and time--try beat the line sitters at the cancellation line. I've seen it twice, paid $177 for good orchestra seats. HOWEVER, be prepared to wait for more than 24 hours. Unless, you have the money to pay a line sitter --which to me was worth it.
Again, it all depends on how badly you want to see the show.

I would like to see the show, but not bad enough to pay an extremely high price for tickets. How much do the sitters charge pay per hour? Are they paid for 8 hrs, 24 hrs? If I used them, would I be able to come to the theater after several hours, pay the sitter and then take their place?

Can't tell you all the details (check the cancellation line thread) but you usually end up paying less using them then the scalper/re-sell.
Yes, you can take over at any time (after a minimum amount of time, I assume)

Rules seem to change every day. I heard there was no line swapping --- hence why line sitters are asking for a set price via paypal to wait 30+ hours.... but from the cancellation thread, there have been reports of line swapping an hour before.
The show started previews on Broadway back in July so certainly there were a lot of opportunities to see the show with the original broadway cast. Just thinking about it, Jonathan Groff left 2-3 weeks ago so you won't be seeing the show with the original cast.
