With this fast approaching will have to decide on tickets - main seats are £150 and been told stalls are the best as Circles are a far distance from stage. I do like the show and the recording Glenn made but this is a steep price and at least £50 to £75 above the next band but guess this is once in a lifetime chance to see her and the show back in the West end. Do people thinks its worth that extra chunk of cash or will get similar exp from any seat in the stalls?.
There are quite a few seats at the far ends of rows or against walls in the stalls at £105/£75- anyone got info if these are OK - the collision isnt on theatremonkey.com - the ENO site has photos from views from seats but not normally found these to be the most reliable for judging
Yeah, I was thinking that £105 for a seat up against a wall in the back of the stalls was even more of a rip-off than £150 for a "good" seat. I did pay £150 last year for SWEENEY and had a great centre aisle seat in row B. But that was for an awesome cast in one of the all-time great musical theatre works. And, though I do like SUNSET and Glenn Close, I don't like either of them enough to pay these outlandishly extortionate prices. (Would love to see this though, especially to see and hear Michael Xavier, so still hoping for some kind of miracle discount somewhere lol.)

If you wanna see it, pay the money. Some things are worth paying for
Well I didn't want to get into it, but he's a Satanist.
Every full moon he sacrifices 4 puppies to the Dark Lord and smears their blood on his paino.
This should help you understand the score for Wicked a little bit more.

I can pay £12 or £150 a ticket - its not the issue of paying I was asking what people feel this show will actually be worth.
I will be seeing it whatever price I go for in the end - currently despite heavy promotion there are decent seats in all ranges all performances so we may see some offers soon.
Certainly the limited demand to sell out even 43 shows with the acclaimed star of the show would indicate Sunset wont be making a full west end return anytime soon.
I think it's worth splashing the cash, especially for a show like this! There still seems to be loads of tix available (surprising as I thought this production would sell out pretty quickly)...so if anyone needs some cheap seats there are still some up for grabs! Sometimes even the restricted view options are quite surprising...just saying :)
It's all personal preference . I paid top price and happy too, but I personally didn't think it was worth it for the aforementioned Sweeney Todd so didnt
I have recently paid top price for advance tickers to see Sheridan Smith in Funny Girl at the Savoy and Audra McDonald in Lady Day. They were c£100 each. I think that is my limit.
As fantastic as Glenn Close will not doubt be the price is not justified at all!
There should be a cap for premium seats. With so many wonderful shows on its regular theatre goers lose out as they have to pick and choose what to see as they prices are just too much!
If you were seeing the current hit show in NY, you would be asked to fork over up to $1,500 a ticket by scalpers. There are cheaper seats but there is feeding frenzy here comparable to a school of sharks going after blood in the water. Saw Close in the original NYC production. She now has to be closer to the age of the character. My opinion is all theater is overpriced - some more than others.
I'm seeing this in a few weeks. I cannot wait. I saw the paired-down Doyle-esque revival on the West End a few years ago, but that has been my only exposure tot he show. Looking forward to hearing a full orchestra. Watching the movie tonight!
The answer is no only due to the late release of the front row at £105 which offer the best view I think - Glenn is stunning a real powerhouse of a star performance and would urge all to see if you can at what ever seat price you can get
ENO overpricing of this show does mean even now there are seats about for such a limited run and stunning reviews should have meant this show was a standing room only by now.
I am really surprised by the fact that the show hasn't sold out yet considering its very limited run, the iconic original source, rave reviews, Andrew Lloyd Webber, and Glenn Close's involvement. There are still plenty of seats left for tonight performance.
She may not be the biggest box office draw out there, but Ms. Close is still one of the most respected actresses out there, a 6-time Oscar-nominee and 3-time Tony Award-winner, including for her most iconic stage role, Norma Desmond. Go figure.
To be honest I think there have only been a few unsold seats, often individual ones, which will be harder to sell.
I was looking for last Saturday and the day before and there were about 30 left for the matinee and less for the evening performance mainly the £25 or £150 seats and a couple at £105. Tried book on the Saturday morning and all that was left were the £150 seats which I wasn't willing to shell out for.
