I am ever so thankful I got to see Elaine Stritch in all of the shows and plays she was in since about Showboat (1995?) Maybe I was too young but I can't remember if I saw the revival of Company. I surely know the recordings of Company and Follies and others. We saw At Liberty at least 4 times and ALNM a few times too.
It must have been a hoot to see her in a sit-com version of My Sister Eileen (1950's ?) She must have had a lot of stories about Rock Hudson and Marlon Brando that she gracefully recalled.
And thank God, Tina Fey saw and recognized her talent and cast her for 30 Rock. The scenes between Stritch and Alec Baldwin are priceless!
On accepting roles in her later years she said " As long as it has a wheelchair in it, I'm game"
