#1where to sit for Hamilton/Richard Rodgers theatre...

For those in the know-I am not familiar with The Richard Rodger's Theatre and am looking to purchase seats for Hamilton. Can you please tell me which seats would be best for this particular show and theatre:

front row mezzanine on the far left, third row center mezzanine center or orchestra row R - center, or on side near aisle.

Thanks so much!

I saw Side Show from the second row mezz center-ish and then from the front row mezz on the right, and both were excellent seats. I would imagine Hamilton would look great from there too (I saw it from the front row when my friend won lotto).

Mezzanine.  Either should be fine.

Either would be fine but I would sit as close as you can for this show. Nothing like seeing the tears streaming down Leslie Odom Jr's face.

I vote for upstairs and don't think it matters about the side although center is always nice if you can get it.

Row M aisle seat is the farthest back I've sat but it was fine, so I'm sure O is ok. I wouldn't go much farther back, though bc of the stadium seating.

Row O center orchestra is great! Very nice view. You'll feel surprisingly close.

I sat in Q and it was a good seat so O will be good. The stadium seating means rear orchestra feels pretty close.

I sat in orchestra center, row R and I don't think it could have been a better seat. Because of the stadium-like seating, it still felt very close to the stage, but far enough up to be able to take everything in.

My first choice especially for musicals is almost ALWAYS first row mezzanine.  But after seeing If/Then from that row in absolute pain, I'd never do it again at the Richard Rodgers.  I am not exaggerating when I say that there was only about 5 inches of space between the front of the seat and the wall in front of me.  It was impossible to aim my feet forward as my legs had to remain absolutely upright.  I had to try to twist sideways in my seat and turn my legs and feet sort of sideways.  Thankfully the woman next to me left in pain after about a half hour into Act I, and I could then turn a bit sideways into her space. NEVER AGAIN there!

I think the Rodgers in general has a problem with leg room. Even the stadium seating in the orchestra that I love so much (because you can see very well over the head of the person in front of you, no matter how tall) is very cramped when it comes to actual space. For those who really need lots of leg room the first row of the rear mezzanine is great. There is a low bar with a curtain hanging off it, so you can put your legs down as far as you want. However, it's only the first row. I think the rest of the rear mezzanine is just as cramped as other locations.

Yeah the first few rows of orchestra have pretty good leg room but the back orchestra is bad in that regard. But for everything in I think row M for Hamilton...  $$$$$$$ (I decided to spring for it last time but ouch....)

I was in rear mezz last Sunday and I had seat that had curtain also and it save me. I was still cramped but it was better than the room my wife and daughters had to the right side of me. They were cramped also and they are about 5ft 5in tall.

Would it be better to sit in row S on the left side or on the far side in the second row of the mezzanine? I've heard complaints about the overhang effecting the view from some of the orchestra seats, but I've also heard people say that the mezzanine is higher than in most theaters. Just trying to get the most for my money, thanks!

Bump. not trying to be annoying, but I don't want to spend almost $200 on a ticket without getting the best view possible.

I sat in row N of the center orchestra for If/Then and had a perfect view, although leg room was tight.

I'd definitely go with the front mezzanine.

I sat in row Q and the view was fantastic--not close to the overhang getting in the way.  The incline is steep, though, so S would be higher, but I can't imagine you'd be terribly obstructed in S.  I haven't sat in the mezzanine so I can't speak to that.

Trying to find tix for December and ready to bite the bullet on overpaying for rear mezz, but has anyone sat in row H?  It looks like there are only 2 seats in the row so I'm thinking that might help the leg space issue (assuming we could each slide our legs to the side since there wouldn't be anybody else), but it would be completely far left or far right in the back and I'm not sure spending $200+ per ticket is worth it for that kind of view.  Any thoughts?

Getting in, seeing this beautiful show is what matters.  Figure out what you can spend, and then pick a date that has seats and go with it. "Hamilton" hits everyone in attendance. To a person. Don't fret too much about where you sit. I see a lot of handwringing.  Don't overspend, just get a seat that fits in your budget.  You won't be disappointed.

Has anyone sat in the boxes at the Rodgers?

I think you get the most bang for your buck sitting in the side orchestra - first handful of rows, non-premium seats.  We've sat there several times and loved it - Leslie Odom Jr is giving the performance of a lifetime and being able to see his facial expressions, the tears rolling down his face was amazing - worth very penny.  Also, since the show can be very quick during the rap sections, sitting closer means you can mouthread the quicker passages and it helps you with comprehension (especially on Guns and Ships where Daveed Diggs is rapping at the astonishing speed of 6.3 words per second. The show is phenomenal - and I am sure it is wonderful to enjoy from anywhere - but for an under $200 per ticket budget - these seats a fantastic.  The tickets we $147 a piece (though I imagine they've gone up a little at this point).
