Are there typically last minute discount tickets for Mamma Mia? We're already bought tickets for Matilda but it's quite pricey. But if there are half price tickets sold at Time Square, then that may be an option for a last minute thing. (As a note, we'll be coming last weekend in the summer, and I know it's closing shortly afterwards)
Also, I forget the name of it, but I'm referring to that Ticket Booth in Time Square. Do they sell tickets all day or do you have to line up at a certain time?
"BroadwayBox and Theatermania have discount codes available on their websites if you want to purchase in advance. Mamma Mia has $32 general rush tickets the day of the performance. Partial view. First come, first serve (like all rush policies). The times square booth is called TKTS and Mamma Mia! is frequently listed at 50% off."
Many Thanks. 2 questions:
1. How do you purchase the $32 dollar seats. Do you go to the box office for this? Partially blocked seats are ok as it's not our first time seeing it (and much better than not seeing it at all)
Yes, you go to the theater the day of the performance; usually people start lining up around 9:00/9:30am (box office opens at 10) for this show. Limited number of $32 tickets are sold. I've been given seats all over - front row on the sides, 2nd row, 3rd row, 10th row, box seats, etc. all partial view but still great seats for only paying $32.
I don't know if this is normal or not but when I rushed about two months ago, I got first row, center aisle and th most definitely weren't partial view at all.
I'd suggest getting there by 9:15am. I rushed last Friday and received seats C 13 and 15 in the left orchestra; the line didn't really pick up until about 9:30. Depends though, you never really know how long the line will be; hard to predict that.
n2nbaby - I've rushed this show several times - according to the box office guys, front and center is not typical. seems you got lucky! :)
Really appreciate the feedback. We're only in for a couple days but hopefully can head to the theatre for 9:15am or so and try for rush tickets. For $32 a ticket, that's pretty good. (And seats in row C on the side sound good to me)

I found more info on Rush tickets for Mamma Mia and don't think I could try for this. First of all, it looks like it's only on Wednesdays and Thursdays (we're coming on a Thursday but arriving closer to lunch hour and only staying a couple days). Second, it says only open for Students, which isn't me. Too bad.
So guess I could try for TKTS which I believe are half price and available every night?
If you are waiting until the last minute, check out the TodayTix app if you have a smartphone or tablet. Currently, TodayTix is selling Mamma Mia tickets for $59. Use a referral code to save $20 (they are all over this website; mine is HHPPI)
