Announced at tonight's exciting talkback with John Kander and Lin Manuel Miranda was that the show will offer the entire balcony and rear mezz for $19.75 through the Tonys. The show is struggling so it makes sense to create some incentive for those seats that aren't selling.

talkback was wonderful. Kander and Miranda have been close friends for several years. There was also special appearances by Chita and John Doyle.

Also, Tom Nelis is still on for Roger Rees and did a fine job.

This show is struggling more than the NY Mets offense now .

It is a shame that this quality show is struggling why some other dreck keeps on marching on. Hopefully, Chita wins the Tony as a consolation prize but regretfully the show is on life support and will not last much longer. Thought the Tony nods would help but they are not doing a thing .

Saw AAIP which I thought was good but overrated and honestly enjoyed The Visit more.

I'm surprised they didn't offer a discount like this for the first several previews. That really helped fill the houses of Hand to God, Something Rotten, and It Shoulda Been You.

Thanks for letting us know, ljay889. Did they say how they'll be selling the tickets? Do you need a special code or can you just buy them normally online or at the box office?

Is the view for this show better from the rear mezz or the balcony? I know the balcony in that theater is terrifying, but I'm worried about the overhang in the rear mezz obstructing the view.

It wasn't announced how to purchase them . I assume there will be a press release in the morning. I'm almost positive that Tom Kirdahy said it will be the entire balcony and rear mezz. I'd probably go with rear mezz.

If you've been on the fence about seeing this show, this is a great opportunity.

I'm kind of second guessing my decision to pay full price for an orchestra seat.  But I guess it's one price to pay for the chance to see a living Broadway legend in performance up close.

"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)

^ Not to mention your full price ticket helps support a struggling new original musical.

The view from the balcony wasn't bad at all. Could see the whole stage and Doyle has some great stage pictures. I didn't love this show when I first saw it, but for $20, I'll check it out again.

Sat in the front row. It's a great experience to be so close, because it feels like the show is swallowing you. Plus, having Chita Rivera 5 feet away from you is pretty thrilling.

I'm seeing The Visit on Sat. June 6th (evening perf) Orchestra Row A Seat 2.  Gleek:  Thanks for your comment.  That didn't occur to me.

Not sure what's wrong with Rees, but I believe he's been out for several performances.

Tom Nelis did a very commendable job. It was a bit jarring to hear the character with an American accent, given I am very used to Rees in the role. Nelis is obviously a much better singer, and the songs did sound better with his voice. He also manages to get more laughs at some of his lines. Rees uses every fiber in his body to portray a broken man, and I adore his character choices. Nelis plays a stronger/less broken man, it works, but I do ultimately prefer Rees in the role.

Chita keeps getting better and better. Hopefully there were some Tony voters in the audience tonight because Chita really delivered. Audience was VERY receptive, and the performance received more laughs than I've witnessed in the past.

Someone just told me Rees has now been out for almost a week. I hope he's ok!

And I'm praying the Tony voters write Chita's name down on their ballots, she's truly the most deserving of that award this year.

Whoa, a week! Chita gave Nelis an extra bow at curtain call, and gave him a kiss on the lips, lol.

I am praying with you, Jordan. She is just extraordinary. As John Kander mentioned at the talkback, it's astounding to see a legendary dancer play a role where she has to stand still for the most of the performance. It's an expert example of subtlety in a role where many actresses would turn it into camp.

I have a feeling it won't happen, but I'm still going to say a little prayer. :)

Oh and I found out tonight that the Tony performance is going to be "Love & Love Alone" followed by a bit of one of the songs with the Eunuchs, but I can't remember which one.

Maybe "I Will Never Leave You?" I still think the beautiful choral number "Look At Me" would've been best.

Maybe. Honestly, I don't remember which one it is. But I'm very happy they're doing "Love...", even though I think they should leave it at that. Either way it's going to be one hell of a performance.

How odd that they're having the Eunuchs sing.

I'm sure they won't be doing their confession, so I guess they'll get a verse from I Will Never Leave You.

I was hoping for You, You, You into the choral portion of Look at Me too.

I guess it was inevitable that Love and Love Alone would be the choice though.

Rees attended the opening night of PERMISSION at MCC on Tuesday, as evidenced by these photos. Whatever's keeping him out of the show isn't serious enough to keep him at home, it seems. I hope he's back soon -- I know some weren't enamored of him, but I really loved his performance as Anton.
