Last night on Theater Talk there was Tony Danza & Rob McClure of Honeymoon. They were on to promote the show. Problem was they said next to nothing re the show
All it was was idle chit chat . They were there to promote the show. I have never seen a worse example of promotion. A lost opportunity here

Doubt the producers were to happy about this

Anyone watching Theater Talk is probably aware of the show already- and I doubt as if an appearance there is the one that's going to make the show suddenly start selling.

I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.

Made the correction. Typing on a Kindle is the pits. It makes these weird " corrections"

It is also a pain trying to go thru the minefield of pop ups here.

Exactly. Non-theatre people are not watching Theater Talk.

I realize that but still at least talk about it a little.

I think the promotion itself is giving Danza as many opportunities as possible to be in front of a camera while the show is running. At this point, I believe everyone in the theatre community knows that Tony Danza is on stage and by keeping up appearances he's staying in the public conscious without having to really talk about the show. Even on talk shows where actors are scheduled to promote a film or television show, 95% of the 8-minute interview is personal chatter and the last 5% is when they introduce a 20-second clip.

"Mostly, I loved the size of these people's emotions. Nobody has emotions this size anymore. Outsized emotions. Operatic emotions. Kushemski and Vanda are like Tristan and Isolde, they're Paolo and Francesca. Nobody's in total thrall like this anymore. Nobody's overcome by passion like this, or goes through this kind of rage." I watch Theatre Talk on youtube! Theatre Talk is kinda like a talk show with Michael Riedel and Susan Haskins and they have theatre people come on, and they talk about their show. My favorite episodes are when they have the Fall and Spring Previews, and the Tony award predictions with Jesse Green, Michael Musto, and Patrick Pacheco.

I did not see the show but I assume they were introduced as being in the show which covers the necessary promotion for the 1/10th of 1% of the audience that has been living under a rock. I am sure the press agent sent over b-roll and Susan didn't want to use it. Or was it used?

I watch Theatre Talk from time to time. I dvr the show. There's a classic interview with Marian Seldes. She was sweetness personified. I want to slap Michael Riedel upside the head at times when he doesn't let Susan Haskins get a word in.

"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)

The second part of this broadcast was an interview from a couple of years back with the Maysles brother who just passed away, all about the filming of Grey Gardens.
