Does anyone know whether either a lottery or general rush will be offered for FISH IN THE DARK? And does the production plan to offer standing room?

There's no official word on this, but based on their advanced sales (largest ever for a play with $13.5 million so far) I highly doubt that they'll offer a lotto or rush. Is the Cort equipped for Standing Room?

The cheapest option is a $49 ticket for the very last row in the balcony. They're mostly sold out right now, but when I was looking at various dates I saw some for that price as a single seat. I hope this helps!

Nope. Not sure if the Cort has SRO.

Not to divert from this thread but I plan on shelling out full price to see this. Do you think I should play it safe and buy an average mezzanine seat for late May early June now or do you think they'll be releasing good orchestra front mezzanine seats at like $150 a week or closer leading up to the show like they do for most shows

The Cort has SRO I imagine it will be sold after opening when the show is sold out

"do you think they'll be releasing good orchestra front mezzanine seats at like $150 a week or closer leading up to the show like they do for most shows"

They only do that when premiums go unsold, no?

Thankfully, I bought in on this one early... front row orchestra, aisle, regular price.

My real question about this show is... what will Larry David be like at the stage door?!

He already is having them send his costume to his apartment, since he thought it was silly to come to the theater and immediately have to undress and change clothes, heh.

Well on Letterman he said he's doing the play to get laid, so at the stage door he'll be something like James Franco?

I got tickets for this one early, too, since I knew I wouldn't want to miss it! I've got Orchestra Left tickets soon and I just bought two $49 tickets for the (supposedly) closing performance on June 7.

I'm so curious to see if Larry does stage door. I would absolutely love to meet him, but I can't imagine that he's going to be too interested in doing stage door, and if he does, I would imagine that it'll be absolutely mobbed...

Edit: Here is the article that haterobics was referencing, or one that had the same info about his costumes. There are also some previously-undisclosed details about the play itself!

I would love a signed poster by him, but man, I can't see him getting into it... but you can never tell with him.

I also see him bailing on June 7, and if the show is a hit, they'll just let Jason Alexander take over for him. He was already the Larry David doppelganger in Seinfeld... shouldn't be too hard to do it again.

The Cort does have Standing Room. I did it for A VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE back in 2010. Was lucky enough to snag a seat after intermission. Great show.

When I was at The Cripple of Inishmaan's final performance, they sold standing room and it was indeed on the mezzanine level. If I had to guess Larry David probably won't be into stage dooring and most likely won't come out but if he does and is nice I'll certainly give it a try. I'm a big fan of his. Returning to my previous question, I think that there will be some unsold premiums sold at regular price so I'm going to do that. I got lucky and got row H center orchestra during the final week of A Raisin in the Sun, and I see on teleharge that they've been releasing house seats the week leading up to some performances of The Elephant Man.

Jason Alexander is doing OTHER PEOPLE'S MONEY at Bay Street this summer. He's been looking for a Broadway vehicle for some time, and he's turned down a few offers; I highly doubt he'd make his return to Broadway after twenty-five years as a replacement.

According to Fish in the Dark social media, they will offer $37 standing room available at the Cort box office at 10:00am. Not details about whether it is only when the show is sold out, etc. I hope they clarify in a more complete statement, but see the link below for what they did say:

Same! Anyone who is successful with standing room, please share your experience.

"Mostly, I loved the size of these people's emotions. Nobody has emotions this size anymore. Outsized emotions. Operatic emotions. Kushemski and Vanda are like Tristan and Isolde, they're Paolo and Francesca. Nobody's in total thrall like this anymore. Nobody's overcome by passion like this, or goes through this kind of rage." I signed up on this forum just to respond to this and hopefully help some people out. I'm in line right now (Friday) for standing room tickets.  We didn't want to risk missing out so we got here about 7:15. The next person showed up at 7:45 and another person showed up at 8:00 or so and as of now at 8:08 there's are a total of three people in line so it looks like 8:00 - 8:30 is when you should arrive if you want to guarantee tickets.

I got a standing room ticket for Wed night by arriving at noon.  There were empty standing room places during the show.

Is the current policy one or two SR tickets sold per person?  Thanks.

Looks like HBO passed on recording it. Big mistake

Now you will see the show start discounting tickets. Taking nothing away from Alexander, people wanted to see David.

Looks like they'll now have a rush policy once Jason Alexander goes into the show. The $35 rush tickets will be limited to two per person and will be available when the box office opens.
