How long does everyone think Disgraced will last at the Lyceum? Do you think they will close and another show will be able to take the theater before the end of the season?
Which show will be next for the question "Which show goes in after it closes" Any show is eligible even if it has not opened yet. It is the BWW favorite game.
It seems like the producers will want to run it until spring so it can be in the running for best play. But with Curious Incident the hit that it is, and probably a lock for the award, I'm not sure why they would burn the money to make it last.
I loved the script on the page, read the damned thing twice in one sitting. I was riveted. Then, a year later, found the current production tepid in just about every area, mostly direction (though I loved Radner, the only performance that seems in sync with the play's dynamics, at least late in previews). It's a terrific play, and many other people like this production. To me, it should be scary, dangerous and leave the audience hushed and pensive. It just kind of ... doesn't. Not the play that should inspire "Chinese or bar food" chatter at the curtain.

Auggie, I felt I had the complete opposite reaction to the play from you. I last saw the play during its original world premiere and only saw it again in October, and was floored by it. The addition of the scene where Emily meets Isaac for the first time was the missing element that made the rest of the play work from when I saw it in Chicago, which was good, but you could tell there was still a lot of work to be done. It was great to hear an audience gasp and deadly silent at the right times almost 3 years later.
Auggie, I'm with you there. Iw as expecting to be blown away. And wasn't one bit. In fact, it was my least favorite show that I have seen this past year.
