‘In Touch’ has exclusively learned that Lindsay Lohan is hoping to make it on Broadway— with a little help from her 'fairy godmother,' Oprah Winfrey!
An insider tells ‘In Touch,’ “Oprah bought the rights to several books that she wants to produce for the stage, and Lindsay is begging to be cast in one.”
“If that doesn’t work out, she’s hoping Oprah can get her an audition for something like ‘Cabaret,’” the insider adds, explaining that the talk show legend helped Lindsay land her role in ‘Speed-the-Plow’ in London this past fall. “Lindsay needs another helping hand.”
Since her docuseries on OWN, “Lindsay’s referred to Oprah as her fairy godmother,” says an insider.

Honestly, don't know much about InTouch, but it's Broadway-related, so... lol.
I mean, at this point she kind of is a Sally Bowles-esque figure...not that I want her playing the role, but it is interesting to think about.
I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.
She had pretty good attendance in speed the plow only missing shows sparingly. I'm sure her attendance would be better than Michelle Williams who missed many shows throughout her run.
I think she would be a pretty good casting choice for Sally as well! Despite everything, I think a role like Sally Bowles would be a good one for her to take over and possibly pleasantly surprise everyone.
Considering the facts that we already know she can sing, and that she is the modern day Sally Bowles this is one stunt casting that would make perfect sense!!
I was prepared to give her the benefit of the doubt in Speed-the-Plow. Turns out she was terrible and simply doesn't have much talent to be a stage actress. Based on that, I'm hoping this doesn't happen.
I was there this Saturday - and Amanda Seyfried was there with Doug Sills - they were probably just supporting the cast/watching the show but I think AS would be great!!!
"Observe how bravely I conceal this dreadful dreadful shame I feel."
She was a lot more reliable than most people gave her credit for. The structure of theater could be very good for her..and frankly with her "fame", she could be very good for Broadway.
She has done some very good work on film..and though I hadn't seen her on stage, she got average reviews. No better or worse than many others. I up for giving her a chance - and I would go see her as well.
I also appreciate she doesn't expect anyone including Oprah to get her a role..just an audition. I wish her the best...the Hollywood press mercilessly has wanted her to crash and burn for years because it makes good copy. Hopefully the Broadway community is a more generous place...starting with the many positive comments in this thread.
I do believe Lindsay would be an excellent choice. I know that some people would kill me for this but has anyone thought about Pairs Hilton? It would be interesting to see her play the part --
"Whenever I get gloomy with the state of the world, I think about the arrivals gate at Heathrow Airport. General opinion's starting to make out that we live in a world of hatred and greed, but I don't see that. It seems to me that love is everywhere. Often it's not particularly dignified or newsworthy, but it's always there - fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, boyfriends, girlfriends, old friends. When the planes hit the Twin Towers, as far as I know none of the phone calls from the people on board were messages of hate or revenge - they were all messages of love. If you look for it, I've got a sneaky feeling you'll find that love actually is all around."
