If the revival of Pippin comes to London, who would you want cast?

This is the first time I hear that it's coming to London in 2015. I personally don't see it happening. I honestly don't see it having cross-over appeal to British audiences.

I, for one, saw the Boston tryouts and thought it was thoroughly overrated, and just completely irrelevant and frivolous.

There was talk after the Tony win but I can't see it happening now. If they did Patina would make sense and they'd need a name to sell it. Daniel Radcliffe could work

Pippin has some relevancy in American nostalgic pop culture. That kind of stamp does not really exist in British pop culture. It's a very obscure show. At best it could be marketed as one of the early shows by the composer of Wicked, but I doubt people would buy into it.

I would imagine that the Broadway production is doing quite well, but turn over is so high and quick on Broadway, and especially with the tour hitting major American cities. I don't see it as a big tourist attraction. And while it has a big visual aspect, I think it demands domestic or English speakers to understand it. It asks a little bit more from its audiences than say Mama Mia or Phantom to follow the plot and be engaged. I give it another full year before it closes.

If the Menier couldn't sell what was a much more innovative production of PIPPIN, there's no way the BWay version would work here.

Except this isn't about review it's public interest. The Menier production wasn't that long ago.

Boeing Boeing is an excellent example, but nothing can save Pippin here, except the circus tricks, but I even think the critics would be thicker skinned for this too.

It was rumoured to go into the Phoenix, when Once was really struggling.

The Menier production was, imho, misconceived but this new Broadway version is utter magic. I think if marketed correctly it could do really well in the West End. I'd have Nicola Hughes as LP and Josefina Gabrielle as Fastrada.

I think this could work. The Menier production, physically, was not interesting enough to sell. It was too "concept". This is far more traditional, with a bigger focus on the circus elements. This could sell. Would be great to see it at The Phoenix.

Don't be suprised to see this announced to come over. Barry and Fran Weisler love London and were gutted to close Chicago here. If the right venue came up, it would come.

Phoenix was heavily rumoured with Bonnie Langford playing Berthe last year but I don't know if that's still a plan...
