Good news although the West End is very musical heavy from this autumn with the major playhouses having musicals in them like Sunny Afternoon at the Pinter, Urinetown at the Apollo, Scottsboro Boys at the Garrick etc
I agree, I was going to insert unwisely that the 2 biggest house The London Palladium and the Dominion are empty, but both houses have just taken filer shows.
Excellent news! As lucky as I was to see the production at the St James Theatre, I was kind of gutted at the time that I wouldn't be able to see it again. Fingers crossed that Jenna Russell will be back as Pennywise!
Looks like most of the cast is returning, but Richard Fleeshman confirmed on Twitter that he will not be returning as Bobby Strong due to "prior commitments." So interested to find out who ends up landing that role now...
I'm so glad Jenna Russell and Jonathan Slinger are reprising their roles as they were both wonderful at St James and, in my opinion, the best things about this wildly overrated show. Although he looked great I found Richard Fleeshman really struggled vocally and can't really do comedy, so I hope for the West End they find somebody who looks as good as him but is funny and can really do justice to the big gospel number.
Richard Fleeshman was probably my least favourite part of the production (though to be fair it was a VERY good production, so that isn't to say that he is particularly bad. I agree that his voice and comedic chops really weren't quite up to it), and I look forward to seeing who they cast as Bobby. Chuffed that Jenna Russell's coming back!
I really enjoyed it, but like Book of Mormon, don't really understand the hype suggesting it's a work of pure genius.
Why don't you go? Why don't you leave Manderley? He doesn't need you... he's got his memories. He doesn't love you, he wants to be alone again with her. You've nothing to stay for. You've nothing to live for really, have you?
