I know the girl is determined to be taken seriously, but it's just not going to happen in this lifetime. Her reputation is irreparable at this point, and has been for years. Many claim that she once had great promise as an actress, a promise that has always been lost on this viewer. Regardless, I hope she does get her act together, and find a way to make a living that does not involve being exploited, be it on her own or by others.
Does she even need to "make a living" ? I know she's hit a rough patch financially (a disaster for those of us who know what money is) but it seems like she could fix that relatively quickly. That Oprah show must be paying something, I'm so confused as to why she is working at all. The scary part of the show is even her "nice" brother expects her to have a career and the girl is obviously still consumed by it all.
She doesn't have as much $$ as you probably think she does. If Robin Williams "needs work," Lindsay Lohan surely does. Don't forget her parents swindled much of that childhood fame fortune away.
Did I watch a different interview than you guys? Because the Lindsay that I saw on WWHL last night was put together, smart and extremely self aware. It made me happy watching her last night that she seemed to be doing so well.

I'm with Jordan. I think there is a pre-accustomed response to her appearances are to think train wreck. I personally think she is doing well and hope she keeps at it. That said, I do think it is hard for her to get work because the insurance necessary outweighs the need to cast her. It was the same case with Robert Downey Jr. for years.
She came off very well last night. I think you guys are just enjoying the sport of bullying her and knocking her. She seemed very well put together. She has always had that haggard quality about her... part of who she is. Her assistant is kind of cute.
I've been watching it all, I wouldn't say train wreck either. She is vulnerable and the people around her are horrible. Not sure how I feel about what Oprah has done but it's quite possible that reality show kept her on track. Her family just disgusts me.
She was on the View today as a guest host. She looked just ok, not good. She looked and seemed tired. Her hair, skin, lipstick and dress were all the same color. Didn't do anything for her, I thought.
She was also on 2 Broke Girls. She wasn't awful, but not great, either. I'll just stick to Mean Girls and Freaky Friday. Great potential, but it will take a LOT of time and work for her to gain respect from both the industry and the general public again.

She was good in The Canyons, which had a ludicrous script and really awful co-stars for her to work off of, but it seemed clear that Paul Schrader gave her a lot of good direction and focus on it.
She needs to work with good directors (she was also good in Prairie Home Companion- not really playing any kind of type she had played before or since- but again, Altman) but ones who can handle the insurance necessary to work with her and also deal with her entourage.
I think it is clear one of the biggest hindrances for Lohan is she has refused to cut ties with family members, including her father. I think everyone from Tina Fey to Lorne Michaels to David Letterman to Oprah have come to know that they often have to work around the family to lend a helping hand to her.
