Change can be positive and change can be negative. It all depends on where that change leads to. You can't just completely embrace or completely reject the very notion of change. You have to put that "change" into context...

"but I hope you get the gist. "

I get the gist.

Why do you make me repeat what I already wrote? I'll try to explain it to you in the simplest possible terms. The term opening night: ONE night. One, not two.

So now, Art, tell me, what was the date of the opening night of The Bridges of Madison County? And be crystal clear about it, please.

Change come fast and change come slow.
But everything changes; you got to go!
Shout, shout! Devil on out!

I've probably posted this before, but it bears repeating.

Guys, look. I found a photo of After Eight on the Internet.

"Change can often be a very bad thing. Indeed. it can be a disastrous thing."

I vote that in lieu of whatever condescending remarks After Eight wants to make about any number of topics, he just has to post this, over and over.

After Eight, I appreciate your frustration regarding the confusion over the official opening night. Officially, the opening night for, The Bridges of Madison County, was Thursday 20 February 2014. Is there a legitimate question regarding that date? Yes. Could the Producers been clearer? Yes. Do I believe they have the right to celebrate a night earlier by inviting investors and friends of the production to a performance and party that won't center around media criticism? I do.

Now... I have graciously answered your question. Why won't you answer mine? I am now asking for the third time: What in my words, "They worked hard and deserve it." implied to you:

"And the creators of the thousands of plays and musicals, whether hits or flops, who for eons have managed to survive an actual opening night party after an actual opening night, reviews and all, didn't work hard?

I'm glad to learn that the creators of this show have worked so much harder and are so much more deserving than any of their predecessors.

Is there an emoticon for disgust?

Responding to my question, by asking an entirely different one is a cheap trick. I am holding you accountable for your own words. Please have the decency to answer my question. And, if you find you mistyped, please offer the apology I believe I deserve.

I really don't see why it's so confusing. They had a "Celebration of Opening" party approximately 20 hours before the official opening night performance. End of story. Any press I ever saw about the show always said that the show opens on Feb 20.

Art,

I did not mistype. I owe you no apology. I did not say you said that these people were more deserving than their predecessors of celebration. It was *I* who was pointing out, in a rhetorical question, that these people worked no harder and were no more deserving of celebration than any other creators of past shows.

It was *I,* mind you,*I,* I repeat, who stated that if thousands upon thousands of shows could survive the "horror of horrors" of an actual opening night and an actual opening night party awaiting actual reviews without the world coming to an end, then these people could have done so as well.

My disgust was directed at this ridiculous attempt to postpone facing the music that is part and parcel of their profession, not at you. At least until now.

Sweet mother of God, are people really upset that the cast celebrated on a different day? As others have said...other shows have done it.

After Eight, I appreciate that you answered my question. In the future, I suggest that you don't put your words in context to a quote from another user, when your opinion has nothing to do with that user's comment. I also suggest that you don't start your thoughts - after quoting someone - with "And..."

"And" is a conjunction and by its very definition implies that you are connecting one thought to another. My words had absolutely nothing to do with your comments. You are entitled to your opinion, and posting it here, but misrepresenting another poster is simply bad form and rude. I am pleased to read that wasn't your intention and just my misunderstanding your poor articulation by making your comments directly after quoting mine and starting your words with "And...".

My apologies for not realizing you were being inarticulate. I would hate to think that your response was a coverup for you just being an %$$hole.

Art,

There is nothing wrong with my articulation. The problem is with your comprehension, such as it is.

I won't even start in on your language and, ahem, manners--- such as they are.

How or why After Eight hasn't been suspended from these boards yet is beyond me.

You have earned yourself a place on my "ignore" list. Your opinions just don't matter enough to me to be worth reading through your rudeness. Write away... I'm not reading.

Sweet mother of God, are people really upset that the cast celebrated on a different day?

Only a couple of people...and After Eight. It honestly makes no difference when the company party is to anyone other than the company. None. Zero. They can hold it a month in advance or two weeks after for all it matters to anyone not involved with the show. Perhaps After Eight was trying to crash the party and showed up a day late. If they knew it would personally cause him that confusion, I can't fault them for their tactics. And after reading this thread, actually seems a very likely explanation.

I was just wondering if anyone had a good recording of "He Forgave Me" or a copy of the lyrics? I have been dying to here this song! Thanks so much!
