I have not watched the show regularly in a long-time but I'm posting this for those who still watch it every week. Sandra Oh who will play Christina Yang for a tenth season of 'Grey's Anatomy' will leave when the season concludes.
"Creatively, I really feel like I gave it my all, and I feel ready to let her go," an emotional Oh tells THR. "It's such an interesting thing to play a character for so long and to actually get the sense that she wants to be let go as well. [Cristina] wants to be let go, and I am ready to let her go. We have to start the process, story-wise, for the Grey's writers to think of why she's going to go."
Yeah, the Cristina stuff has been lacking the last few seasons, in my opinion. The breaking up and getting back together with Owen a million times is old and boring.
I will still watch the show as long as Sara Ramirez stays on.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
I stopped watching this series. The show has had some fantastic moments (while it caused a bit of trouble..the hospital shooting was by far the best season finale to any t.v series. The scene with Bailey trying to get the elevator to work has me crying everytime) but this season I found the whole Christina/Owen relationship tiring as well as the "will we sue?" "wont we sue?" regarding the plane crash. At least I think they were contemplating suing.. I can't remember
I admit that I never got back into this show after the writers' strike some years back. I honestly wish Sara Ramirez would leave it so we could have her back in NY. She needs to be onstage again.
They should just end the series after this season. Meredith Grey without Christina wouldn't be the same. Since all the leads have contracts ending this season, just call it a day. I still love this show but they had a good run and as a viewer, I'm ready to let go too. And if the leads decide not to renew their contracts, that's even more reason not to continue the show. A "Grey's Anatomy" show without a Grey (they killed off their back up Grey - Lexie) just wouldn't work.
10 seasons? This show made it to 10 seasons? I'm kind of shocked (though I shouldn't be) that in the midst of a golden age of television drama, dreck like this can find a big enough audience to run 10 seasons. And, yes, I've seen the show.
10 years?? How is this show still on? havent they been kidnapped, trapped, violated, slept with each other enough?
MEANWHILE, Smash 2 seasons GONE, 666 Park Ave 1 season GONE, Don't Trust the B---- In Apartment 23, 2 seasons GONE. Bunheads 2 seasons GONE

No, you shouldn't be shocked. St. Elswhere, ER, Chicago Hope, then Grey's Anatomy. Medical soap dramas have been popular for a long time. This show was just part of the progression.

It was good for ABC melodrama...but a statement like that should have a government mandate to be preceded by "In my opinion".
I can probably mention 10 season finales that I thought were better.
I wouldn't say Sandra Oh was underused. It is they just keep rehashing the same stuff with her character, which unfortunately is not that interesting. I wish they would have given us more about her and Callie's friendship. They were always funny together.
I think my problem with Grey's is that I've always liked the supporting characters more than the main ones. And they got rid of 2 of my favorites (George and Mark) by killing them off. They also are keeping the annoying interns.

I know I went in expecting some spoilers, but they kill of Mark? OH MY. I'm watching on Hulu+ to catch up to the new season. I'm watching season 6 now.
I'm not surprised it's lasted so long. I'm looking forward to seeing how Mark dies.
Oh was so much better than the show allowed her to do by the end. She's one of my favorite character actresses, she was memorable in a minor role in the RABBIT HOLE, would also love to see her do stage.
"Some people can thrive and bloom living life in a living room, that's perfect for some people of one hundred and five. But I at least gotta try, when I think of all the sights that I gotta see, all the places I gotta play, all the things that I gotta be at"
So, now ABC is okay with bringing back someone, who used a terrible gay slur and got into a physical fight with Patrick Dempsey, to help give her character closure? Then again, they had the homophobic Bristol Palin compete on one of their reality shows twice.
