AUDITIONS: BUD, NOT BUDDY at Lakewood

Lakewood Theatre Company is holding auditions for BUD, NOT BUDDY, an acclaimed comedy/drama adapted by Reginald Andre Jackson from the Newbery Medal winning book by Christopher Paul Curtis. Set in Michigan during the 1930s, this coming of age tale for the young and old alike, portrays the adventures of 10 year old Bud Caldwell, an orphan on the run from abusive foster homes who sets off to find his father. Bud's journey sends him on the trail of a colorful (and most revealing!) jazz band.

AUDITION DETAILS:
Saturday, June 1: 1:00 pm -3:00 pm
Sunday, June 2: 5:00 pm- 7:00 pm
Roles available for adults and children from 9- 99. Auditions will be held at Lakewood Theatre Co., 2211 Old Hickory Blvd. in Old Hickory, TN. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. The script calls for a diverse cast, particularly African American actors for band members and the role of Buddy.
