He should have done The Brother Size, or any of Tarell Alvin McCraney's plays.
There are fantastic contemporary African-American playwrights, unfortunately their work is shafted by reincarnations and all black productions with movie stars. It's quite unfortunate, and hardly progressive.
Kad, I agree with you on him picking a new play. And he probably has enough to produce it also. I will go nowhere near this production unless I get a comp.
"Hurt Village" would have been an interesting choice for him ... although, he's probably too big a name for Off-Broadway ... though I'm not a fan at all.
