Didn't know they had finished previews, hence the reason tickets for today's show where 160.00.

Well I didn't want to get into it, but he's a Satanist. Every full moon he sacrifices 4 puppies to the Dark Lord and smears their blood on his paino. This should help you understand the score for Wicked a little bit more. Tazber's: Reply to Is Stephen Schwartz a Practicing Christian

...and the capacity is at about 50% last time I checked for the upcoming shows. The musical is awful, I mean there are some enjoyable moments but it is cliché, cardboard characters, generic music that often has nothing to do with the story or characters.....we get such trash in Australia.

"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022) "Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009) "Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000

They snuck to the other side of the world to do this thing and I'm STILL upset about it!

Had this show opened anywhere else but Sydney Australian it would have close the next night.

What a con.

It appears that Australia has become the out, out, out of town try out for shows that once were a movie hit .

One popular song from the movie doesn't make a musical.

When are producers going to understand that Australians are not idiots. Australians as reported today are one of the largest visitors to NYC.

With a mess of a book, a score that has no universal cohesion and the two leads who have as much charisma as 2 icebergs coming together.

Charging $135.00 a seat to sit through this tortuous affair you should save
you money and walk 5 minutes down the street from the Star Casino and visit
the IMAX theatre where you can see all the passion, thrilling music and
real emotions which this musical lacks.

As they say in 'Damn Yankees'.. 'One, two and three strikes you are out'.

The state of musical theatre in Australia is truly pitiful. We used to have a culture that adored the theatre (a show would open a year after it played Broadway) but now most people are theatrically illiterate. If it's not based on a movie then chances are it won't play here. I'm hoping The Book of Mormon is made into a movie, so we can get it here afterwards.

omg, the book writer has a bitch about one of the accurate pans of the show:

LOL

He is right that the failure of this musical (which is inevitable now) is not going to do well for new musicals in Australia, but if they are anything like this musical or the other mediocre new musicals with Australian origins he cites (DR ZHIVAGO, PRISCILLA), it won't be a big loss.

Perhaps this failure, along with DR ZHIVAGO can be a lesson to the producers that Australians do have standards (that said, in comparison to AN OFFICER AND A GENTLEMEN, DR ZHIVAGO was an artistic triumph and had the right intentions, so it's a shame that it turned out the way it did).

It is really nice that people are spending money to open new shows here, and trying new things. We just need something of a better quality I think....

Oh god, just remembered that King Kong is supposedly premiering here. And then we just get all of the mediocre flops like Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, The Addams Family, Shrek and Ghost. At least South Pacific is coming.

The Addams Family should do great here, I don't understand the hate for that show. It was a fun night in the theatre and sometimes thats all theatre needs to be!

I just realized that the porn version of this movie would require no change to the title whatsoever.
