The first photo immediately reminded me of the following, although I'm sure it's not the solution.

It's the Act I set from the original production of Gilbert & Sullivan's last work together, The Grand Duke. Although it features some very fine music by Sullivan, the show overall is below their usual standard and it's rarely done today.

I can't imagine Papermill Playhouse will be doing "Passing Strange." ha.

Also, this year they did Oliver, Grease, South Pacific.

I had a thought on the subway ride home: Could the Spike Lee/Sonia Sotomayor one be for Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike?

Ha!I think you nailed it cardamon.

I was also going to say Ain't Misbehavin' for "Your Feets Too Big", but it just seemed a like too much of a stretch.

My guess for 1 is Beauty and the Beast, number 2 is definitely Elf and the fifth, could it be All Shook Up?

For what it's worth, I've heard rumors that at least one of the shows in Paper Mill's forthcoming season will be a new musical.

Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.

does anyone really care? Their line-up for this season was terrible.

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

"Maybe the fountain is "Beauty and the Beast"?"

I was thinking that since it is a "Little Town" and a "Quiet Village"

I can't imagine they'd do BATB and immediately follow that with Elf.

For what it's worth, photo 1 is The Court or Miracles, on the backlot of Universal Studios Hollywood. It was a filming location of almost all of Universal's classic monster movies including Dracula, Frankenstein, and Hunchback.

Hunchback pre-Broadway try-out??

Hate to burst your bubble but I'm almost positive Hunchback announced they're doing a tryout in La Jolla. I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure I saw that.

^But Disney did have good luck at Paper Mill with Newsies (though I know Broadway was never the goal). Still, being close to NYC has its advantages.

^ Broadway was most certainly the goal, they just never said so.

mjohnson, you're very much mistaken regarding Newsies. Their overall goal wasn't Broadway and the success it has had thus far. Their ultimate goal with the show was to license out the rights. They just were smart in realizing that you can get more money in amateur rights if a show had been on Broadway than not. That's the reason for the original limited engagement on Broadway. The success after that, the winning of two Tonys and this lengthy run the show's been having. Well, that's just something that no one thought of when they were at paper mill.

As for the clues, it wouldn't shock me to find out that the play is Vanya, Sonia et all. But, as for the suggestion of Beauty and the Beast. Would Paper Mill mount their own production of the show if there's a non equity production touring?

If it was anyplace but the Paper Mill I would guess that the last one is THE MOTHERF***ER WITH THE HAT (black male, hispanic woman) but hell would have to freeze over before they would do that play .

World's greatest Dad could be LIFE WITH FATHER but Paper Mill rarely does classic plays.

Last one is Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike since it's Sonia and Spike?

True. But I don't think the BATB tour would come that close to NYC, so Papermill could probably make some money off of it.
