I wish they'd bring back the merchandise sold at Barnes and Noble. Granted, some of it was the same stuff you could get online/at the show, but it was a lot cheaper. And I loved collecting the journals. No, I'm not ashamed to admit that.
Hopefully they will rewrite and restage the entire hopeless mess of a show. Obviously I have been baffled by the show's long appeal - but, hey, for it's fans - enjoy! You certainly made it a success.
I bet they are going to star in the 10th Anniversary show and then the show will close because isn't that what all shows do? :)
This is a joke, for those who might get confused and think I am serious.

Sort of offtopic, but does anyone know the story behind Idina Menzel's Defying Gravity performance at the TONY AWARDS? Some people say she was very sick during that time, while I have also heard she suffered an asma atack offstage after this performance. What is the truth?
No matter what, you are going to hear different stories. Some say she was sick, some say she had an asthma attack, some will just say she stunk. Personally, I think she sounded good up until she flew. Granted, she was taking HUGE gasps of air which lends to the theory she was either sick or having an attack. But once up in the air, I think she just gave into nerves and excitement and went in and out of pitch. I still think she deserved that Tony for all the work she did with the role. Again, many will argue. But it is an opinion.
"Life in theater is give and take...but you need to be ready to give more then you take..."
Not really sure what she had to be nervous about. She had flown in that flying contraption a dozen times. Yes, it was on live tv and all of broadway was there, but I doubt it was just nerves.
She was a nominee, and performing on live tv would be nervewracking for anyone. It's not like nerves are rational anyway. She didn't have a great vocal technique at the time and gasped a lot in those days. I've been a fan of hers for a long time, but she's not perfect and I think it was just an off night for her.
^^I tend to agree! We mustn't forget Sara Ramirez's illness during the performance of "Find Your Grail" at the Tony's- she was phenomenal, but could barely squeak out her acceptance speech.
Personally Blax, I didn't find Tonya all that thrilling. Like I said...its an opinion. I found Idina's work to be more substantial. Not bashing Tonya by any means as I value her as a sublime performer and a true artist. But that year, the true winner was Menzel in my eyes.

Remember, Menzel had to go from formal wear to green makeup/hair/costume. I bet they started getting her ready an hour before she had to perform. Then she had to de-green herself and get back into formal wear and makeup. I'm sure that the craziness backstage, and the anxiousness of the moment, had an impact on her performance.
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

They just did the remix or whatever you would call it of Popular on Dancing With the Stars. It was stupid. Don't waste your money on the new album.

Incidentally, those are the same two actresses they're using in ads around the city - and have been doing so for a while. Saw some posters up the other day at Columbus Circle.
