I loved it and thought it was funnier than expected. I figured it would be a tame movie with a bit of singing, but it had some great risque-ish humor in it (the girl's lunch meat style boobs). Anna recreating the Cups performance on Letterman
This movie was just absolutely wonderful. Kendrick was terrific...she held the entire thing together, allowing the supporting performers to go far and be fabulous.
Rebel Wilson was terrific...but that Hana Mae Lee had me DYING. I thought it was one of the strangest, most fabulous performances I've seen in forever.
I loved this movie! So much fun! Definitely destined to become a classic comedy. I missed Hana Mae Lee's secret line because the stupid sluts sitting behind me wouldn't shut the **** up.
Saw this last night. Perhaps I was expecting too much? I was really pulling for this movie but found myself laughing for all the wrong reasons. Mostly I felt it was trying too hard to be a mash-up of other movies (especially with the announcers - Best in Show, anyone?)and fell flat. It was just OK for me. I do have to say, however, that Anna Kendrick was great!
"The gods who nurse this universe think little of mortals' cares. They sit in crowds on exclusive clouds and laugh at our love affairs. I might have had a real romance if they'd given me a chance. I loved him, but he didn't love me. I wanted him, but he didn't want me. Then the gods had a spree and indulged in another whim. Now he loves me, but I don't love him." - Cole Porter
