Hello all! I will be taking my 8 year old daughter to her first Broadway show next month, and I'm having a very tough time choosing seats. I've never visited the Gerswhin before. What seats do you think would be best for a child? I'm worried about her being able to see with taller adults sitting in front of her pr, if we sit in the Front Mezz, around a railing.

These are my choice of seats - which would you choose?

Front Mezz, Row A, Seats 16 & 18 (are these too far to the side?)
Front Mezz, Row B, Seats 7 & 9 (these are more centered, but she would have someone sitting in front of her)
Orchestra, Row M, Seats 2 &4 (these seats are on the aisle; would it be easier for her to see?)

Thank you SO MUCH for any advice you can give me! I truly appreciate it!

I haven't been in the mezzanine in the Gershwin, but the mezzanine and balcony sections of most theaters are pretty steeply raked (think stadium style seating), so unless somebody exceptionally tall sits in front of her she should be fine.

Most theaters also offer booster seats for children if there is a problem with seeing over somebody in front of them.

I would definitely sit in Row M of the Orchestra. The mezzanine for the Gershwin is really far back and high up. She will have no problem seeing from row M on the aisle. The seats are pretty well raked so something like this doesn't happen. If anything, they will have boosters for her.

I would say in the go with Mezz row B. If the person infront of her is a problem, front of house will have a booster. I don't think it is too far, and it is a great way to see the show for the first time. For my first time, I sat Row C seats 7 and 8. Wonderful view.
