In less than two weeks, the 39 members of the 2014-2015 Tonys Nominating Committee — all "theater professionals selected by the Tony Awards Administration Committee" who serve staggered three-year terms — will sit down to determine the nominees for the 69th Tony Awards. Mary-Louise Parker andBroadway-bound Bruce Willis will announce the committee's selections on April 28.
In the meantime, The Hollywood Reporter has compiled a list of the serious contenders in every major category, so you can predict the committee's picks and make your own.

I guarantee she will be. The committee hasn't ruled on American in Paris yet, but the producers will petition her into leading so she doesn't have to contend with Veanne Cox and Jill Paice. She is clearly the female lead of the show.

The Tony Committee hasn't made any eligibility rulings since March 19. So, the article is a prediction, but for any show opening since March 19 - qualifications are up in the air.

Most glaringly, he's left off most of the featured performers from ROTTEN!, many of whom are viable contenders.

Other than Brad Oscar, who I agree is viable, and maybe John Cariani, who else from SOMETHING ROTTEN! is missing?
Words don't deserve that kind of malarkey. They're innocent, neutral, precise, standing for this, describing that, meaning the other, so if you look after them you can build bridges across incomprehension and chaos. But when they get their corners knocked off, they're no good anymore…I don't think writers are sacred, but words are. They deserve respect. If you get the right ones in the right order, you can nudge the world a little.

Not only is Oscar viable, I would say he may be a frontrunner.

Kate Reinders, John Cariani, presumed front-runner Brad Oscar... And depending on how much the critics love the show, long-time character actors Brooks Ashmanskas and Peter Bartlett are both very funny in the show as well. Not saying they'll be nominated, but if this list includes David Burtka, it should probably include a few of the ROTTEN! names.

Unfortunately, when there are 2 front runners, there is no open field as in years past so some suspense is gone. I know,if nominated, The Visit has not got a shot in hell of winning.Some categories do but the big one doesn't.

Out of what I've seen, my picks are: (I'm not saying this will happen by any means)
-Something Rotten winning best musical.
-Gigi or On the Town winning best revival.
-Brian d'arcy James, Corey Cott or Tony Yazbeck winning best actor in a musical.
-Vanessa Hudgens, Lisa Howard or Kelli O'Hara winning best actress in a musical.
-Clyde Alves or Max Von Essen winning best supporting actor in a musical.
-Megan Fairchild or Judy Kuhn winning best supporting actress in a musical.

Pretty good predictions Jeffrey but I have to completely disagree with featured actor in a musical. Something Rotten! will get at least two of its men in there.
Also, can anyone explain why Patricia Clarkson is being predicted by so many people when she was singled out almost everywhere as the weak link in the production? Is it just her name? getting swept up in a well liked show?
Im glad THR has started covering the Tonys, they could use some more big exposure. But his lists have a lot of innacuracies which many above have pointed out. These ones are a bit better, esp re: featured performers.

Jeffrey-I think your exclusion of any actor from Something Rotten in the featured category might be a little off. I also think Alysha Umphress will get a nod over Megan Fairchild. (The rest of the featured actress in a musical category is the way I think it will go.) I'm also not 100% sure Lisa Howard will get a nomination. I think Laura Michelle Kelly might sneak in there. Enid Graham from Curious Incident might also take a featured actress slot (she was very, very good and I think she'll be remembered).

Megan Fairchild is fantastic, but I agree with Falling that Alysha Umphress is much more likely to be nominated than Fairchild. Umphress steals the show with her numbers, and it looks like they're definitely pushing for her nomination with the appearance on the "Today Show" and whatnot.

I wasn't the biggest fan of IT'S ONLY A PLAY, but I'll be damned if I'm not realizing that one of the people I'm pulling for the most for nominations is Micah Stock.
